Honest fair and compassionate are all words that come to mind when I think of my experience here. I have 2 dogs (1 with severe anxiety) that have both gone here since they were little. The staff has been patient with my dog who is terrified of the vet and has made accommodations so that he feels comfortable when he is there. My other dog (accident prone) has had another surgery at another vet and was traumatized. When he was diagnosed with cancer and the staff made sure that I as the owner was informed and assured he would be given the best care. They were able to remove the tumor and my pup is living a healthy and happy lifestyle and was not traumatized by the surgery like in the past. Even after moving further away I wouldn’t take my boys to anyone else! ~ Kayla H

We met Dr. Sondhi and his great staff when our Great Pyrnees puppy, Captain, starting limping. At 8 months, he's already 88+ lbs, so we were worried that it could be something more serious than simple growing pains. Dr. Sondhi took the time to explain possible causes, drew diagrams and looked up reference material specific to this breed. He performed thorough range of motion tests on Captain's limbs (something his prior vet failed to do). Dr. Sondhi takes his time and has a great bedside manner with animals. His front and back office staff is also very attentive and loving with their patients. We are very pleased that in Captain's case, after x-rays, it was a simple case of tendinitis. Glad to have found a reliable, honest practice that will care for our furry friend for years to come. ~ SD E

My dog had had some kind of skin issue on his elbow for a few weeks, but never seemed to bothered him. I had been planning on making an appointment with the vet, but have been so busy with other things. This afternoon I was grabbing some lunch in the plaza and I happened to have my dog with me. I figured I would stop in quick and show the receptionist a photo to see if it warranted a more urgent visit. She asked one of the veterinarians who was in the clinic (but not actually working) to look at the photo. He insisted that we go out to my vehicle and take a look at Maverick. He did a very quick assessment and gave me recommendations on the spot. I am super appreciative for that and they’ve made us and any future fur baby’s patients for life! ~ J J

We had the best experience here than with any other vet! Everywhere we called were booked for WEEKS, some even months. They were able to get Kleo in and taken care of the following day. We bought our 9 week old puppy to get a check up because we were unsure if her previous owners had her up to date on everything. They answered every question I had and explained everything throughly, the vet treated my puppy like her own and made sure nothing was overlooked. They even assisted me for my other dog at home providing a flea treatment. After our puppies appointment we were sent home with a puppy gift bag which included a sample bag of puppy food as well. I will definitely be bringing Kleo and my other dogs back, highly recommend!! ~ Destinee F

When it comes to our pets, we all want to find a clinic that truly has a heart. Rancho Bernardo Pet Hospital is exactly that kind of place. The entire staff — from the front desk to the veterinarians — are people with huge hearts and a deep love for animals. Every time I bring my pet in with a concern, I feel like I’m with family. I had an incredible experience that I’ll never forget. My pet started feeling unwell over a long holiday weekend. I knew the clinic was closed, but I called to make an appointment anyway. To my surprise, the doctor actually picked up the phone. For me, that’s the ultimate sign of dedication — to their profession, to the animals they care for, and to the clients who trust them. Dr Sondhi will treat you like a friend and your pet like his own. I couldn't be happier with this veterinarian! I dread dealing with apathetic, corporation type, profit driven vets with my babies. Health is one area where I cannot settle for, I need to have the best! Someone that will genuinely care for my little ones and go the extra step if necessary, meaning call/messages off normal business hours in case of an emergency. Someone that would let me know how the surgery is going pre and post op. This is the level of care and service that you can expect from Dr. Sondhi and his staff and-- that is is priceless to me! On top of that his prices are extremely competitive! He is literally a blessing for my four legged family. ~ fredo P

I recently brought my 4-month-old puppy to Rancho Bernardo Pet Hospital, and I am beyond thrilled with the experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It's such a relief to have found a wonderful local neighborhood vet! Dr. Erin Rose was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge, patience, and genuine care for my puppy really stood out. She took the time to discuss all of our options, answer my questions, and thoroughly explained the health and wellness plan for my puppy. I felt so reassured by her expertise, and it was clear that she truly loves what she does. It was such a positive experience, and I am so happy to have found such a caring and professional vet. I can't imagine taking my dog to any other vet or groomer. When we returned home from a three year stay in Hawaii my dog had a chronic ear infection and was 20 pounds overweight. Not to mention she would shake everytime she walked into a vet or groomers location. Within months her ear infection was cleared up and has never returned. She was put on a healthy weight management program and is now at her ideal weight and full of energy. She is 13 years old and takes two walks a day in the hills of Fallbrook. As for their grooming service, she walks right in and comes out looking beautiful and is worry free. Great professional caring staff. ~ Charlie N

One of the best bet experiences we have had. Dr. Sondhi was thorough and informative as he walked us through his diagnosis. He was patient with our questions and thoughtful in his replies and the options available for treatment. He gave us practical solutions and kept things simple. He and all the staff were friendly, attentive, and comfortable! Really great experience. We recently moved to Escondido and have three dogs. We needed a quick check up and vaccinations for a couple of our dogs. Selected Rancho Bernardo Per Hospital because of the good reviews; it's a bit farther away from our home than our closest vets. RB Pet Hospital is the very best in pet care! They have been treating our pets for many years and have seen my pets the same day every time we needed them. The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly and the staff is always super cheerful and helpful. I could tell from the first visit that every person working at RB Pet really cares about and loves each and every pet. Important to me is that RB Pet doctors never push for costly or unnecessary treatments that we are not able to afford which is why I left my last vet. When our family dog was dying of lung cancer, Dr. Sondi came to our home to put Max down. About one month later, we received a letter that RB Pet Hospital had donated money in Max's name to a university that researches veterinary medicine. RB Pet never said a word and probably didn't know the university would send us the letter. I was so moved by the gesture. ~ Kristen O

Went here on an emergency and it was my first time in this office. Dr. S does not try and over sell you or do unnecessary tests or procedures. He asks honest questions based on his experience and incredible knowledge! This is the first time ever I feel my pet was taken care of and I was not ripped off. They are reasonably priced and the whole staff does an incredible job at addressing your concerns. Dr. S called me immediately the next day to check on my dog and ensure I had no further questions. He cares about the animal and makes honest recommendations. I am amazed and wish everyone had this experience for their fur babies! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR FUR BABIES!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED IN THAT DECISION. RB PET HOSPITAL - thank you for everything! Dr. Sondhi is the BEST ! And the staff, like Andrea, just to mention one of these incredibly trained Vet Techs, treat my four furry felines like family. . .Their Family. My rescues were tiny and helpless and just weeks old. . .full of flease and numerous worms & runny noses. They Dx all 4 of them right on and saved their lives. That was 2 years ago. AND THEY HAVE AFFORDABLE PRICING & DISCOUNTS FOR SENIORS. DR. Sondhi returns your calls personally and walks you thru any questions you may have to FIX ANY PROBLEM ! Bellie cat was sick again. Lethargic, hiding. The ER vet said it would be a few hours... So I took her to the RB regular vet, one I already sent her records when she was sick in July. And, oh man, I am so glad I took her here. The vet is wonderful. Compassionate, thorough, and he wants me to call him every day that she's still not better to report status. He is very inclusive, and a good communicator. He kept her for 30 min to draw blood, and urine which he'll send to a lab, and they'll give her first dose of new meds and interstitial fluids. Only $250 total (ER vet would be over 1k). She's got a fever, an infection of some kind, dehydrated. Same as before. So another round...of antibiotics, and up her prednisone. My poor baby. I hope she's going to be ok, I love her so much. But I highly recommend RB vet. The doctor took over the vet last month. I can't say enough good things about him. ~ Erin C

The staff was very friendly and really tried to make my cats as comfortable as possible, which I really appreciated since they are very nervous in new settings. The vet was very knowledgeable and kind, and I really liked how he walked me through their exams, explaining what he was doing while he was examining them, as well as describing what we want to see and not want to see. He also made sure to get to know the cats better by asking about their behavior at home, as well as their nutrition plan, toys, etc. The offered a half off exam price as a new client for BOTH of my cats since they are both new - no other place offered this! I also had their nails trimmed and my cats didn't seem to hate it completely since the nurse was very gentle and sweet with them. I got to stay with my cats during the entire visit! The costs are reasonable and I very satisfied that I selected this veterinary office to care for my two cats! ~ Debbie A

My senior dog started having seizures and I wasn’t getting satisfactory communication from her vets office at the time. My daughter has been a client of Dr Sandhi for years and always raved about him, so I took my old girl to see him. He was very kind and thorough. Came outside and spoke with me at length about how we will manage her end of life care. His office staff is amazing and they even mail me her medications at no extra cost because I live in Linda Vista. My only regret is that I didn’t take my old girl to him sooner. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Rancho Bernardo Pet Hospital! We’ve been bringing our kitty here since January 2022, and recently started bringing in our new kitten as well. Between wellness exams, medications, and a few recent health concerns, the entire team has gone above and beyond for both of our cats. The veterinarians and technicians are incredibly thorough, compassionate, and proactive — they’ve kept in touch with calls and texts to check on our kitties’ progress and ensure all our questions are answered. Even the front desk staff is consistently kind, helpful, and professional. We live about 30 minutes away, but we’ve never once considered switching to a veterinarian closer to home. The level of care, communication, and genuine love they show for our pets sets the bar impossibly high. We have had a very positive experience with the Rancho Bernardo Pet Hospital. Our dog had a number of health issues when we moved to the area. Dr. Stephens took the time to listen to us describe the symptoms, asked questions about our pet's history and habits, and conducted a thorough examination. Before recommending any tests, procedures, or treatment plans she explained each option and provided a written list with the cost. We did not feel pressured to have every test and procedure done, and were thus able to work within our budget. The office staff have been great about calling to check up on our dog after treatment, and answering any questions we have. Our cat has also been in for an annual check-up and shots. They do not have any office cats roaming around, which was a plus for us, since our cat has reacted badly to this in the past. They were friendly, loving, and complimentary with both animals! ~ Andie M

I found an abandoned cat last year and brought him to another vet to see if he had a chip. This cat tried climbing the walls in the vet room (walls were covered in a burlap type wallpaper). Once I accepted this cat as mine (his name is Midnight), I took him to RB Pet Hospital for neutering and vaccinations. I warned them about his behavior at the other vet office. However, he acted like a perfect little gentleman, and they all said he was so easy. The vet, Dr. Sondhi, said, "He is a wonderful cat!". Dr. Sondhi is excellent and so is his staff - very caring, knowledgeable, easy to talk to. Highly recommended. ~ Bonnie P

Rancho Bernardo Pet Hospital is wonderful. They have a very friendly staff and we appreciate the time they take to care for the animals. The vets do a great job explaining things and I am extremely grateful for their approach. They don't jump to the most expensive treatments first (unless completely necessary). Our dog has a very sensitive stomach and were told by an old vet that he'd probably have to have surgery. Dr. Sandhi suggested changing his food first to see how that affected our dogs stomach. We found out that he had some food allergies and changing the food was exactly what he needed. We have been with Rancho Bernardo ever since. ~ Erin M

I recently moved to San Diego and needed to find a new vet for my fur baby. This veterinary clinic was referred to me by an animal pharmaceutical rep. We saw Dr. Rose and she was so good at her job. She has the best personality to be a vet and you can tell she loves animals. She was very attentive, listened to all my needs, gave recommendations and educated me in many areas involving the new environment we now live in. She was very kind and loving to my dog and was genuinely concerned about his well-being. Even though this clinic is not the closest to me, it is well worth the drive for the care of my pet ~ Sharon K

Dr. Rose and her assistant Mariana were incredibly kind, patient, and professional—especially since Jasmine can be unpredictable. They focused on getting to the root of her symptoms without pushing unnecessary tests, were transparent about pricing, and always got my approval before moving forward. I also really appreciated the follow-up after our visit and their guidance on preparing Jasmine to fly to her forever home. Highly recommend for compassionate, thorough care! ~ Elham B

It’s been well over a year since my dog passed and I went here but I still wanted to share what a wonderful experience I had with this team. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. Dr. Rose was absolutely phenomenal when my dog was aging and starting to have some serious issues that were not easy to diagnose. She helped keep diagnostic tests and treatment as affordable as she could every step of the way. I can’t imagine any other vet being there for us like she was. I’ve recommended them to multiple friends since then, all were equally pleased with the level of care. ~ Abbey A

We've only taken our little guy to the RBPH a few times for medical-related visits - dental work which required anesthesia and several booster shots - but we take him to be bathed and groomed every few weeks. No matter the reason for the visit, the staff is always welcoming and professional. Though more than ready to be picked up, he's always in good spirits and is happy and healthy. The prices may be a little higher than you would pay if you shopped around, but the service you'll get and the treatment your pet will receive is always top notch at the RBPH. ~ Brett W

Mimi was Found as a stray and she was Picked up by animal control. She had been microchiped and her owners were contacted and they didn’t want her and left her there to die. On the day she was scheduled to be killed, a rescue group saved her. Mimi is all of 9 pounds and about 13 years old and had a cough. After going to Dr. Sondhi, they took x-rays, radiograph and bloodwork and Mimi had a very high level pneumonia. Mimi Is still very sick and thanks to Dr. Sondhi and his incredibly loving and kind staff, she is getting better and will make a full recovery. It would take too long to mention all the people that work at this hospital and how much they care about the animals. All of them are amazing and I am very grateful for that!! It’s extremely stressful to be part of rescuing and fostering animals And every day I agonized over the fact that maybe Mimi was too sick to fight. I just want to thank Dr. Sonhdi, Dr. Horenstein and his amazing staff for helping me, saving Mimi and being so very kind when I was falling apart!!! ~ Amy S
